Like all of our projects with Lékué, we start by understanding and guessing how trends might move and shape - and what opportunities and problems might open up for Lékué. The Veggie Baller is a classic example of a project that, on face value, looks super simple.
As children, or even in adulthood, we’ve all rolled up a ball of modelling clay or dough between the palms of our hands. It’s a fun and tactile experience - but it’s messy, fairly unhygienic and pretty inconsistent. Plus, when it comes to preparing veggie or vegan meatballs, the mix tends to be rich in starch and, therefore, quite sticky.
Eager to keep the immediacy of the process but increase the consistency and speed up prep time, we came up with the concept of the Veggie Baller - a simple and intuitive tool that gives shape to a mix made with meat-free ingredients.
The Veggie Baller underwent a lot of concepting work and prototypes before we settled on this winning solution. Simply spatula in a dollop of ingredients, wipe away the excess to get an even dose and then press on the upper moulding. The result? Perfectly even veggie or vegan balls, clean hands and limitless recipe potential.
