Sometimes the best ideas are the most simple ones. A founder came to us with a vision: a micro-torch with an ultra-bright beam, small enough to wear, versatile enough to go anywhere.
Hands-free illumination for cyclists, runners, campers, travellers – anyone who needed light when their hands were busy. The concept was straightforward. Our role was to bring it to life.
We developed an industrial design that packaged everything into a form small enough to mount on a wrist, clip to a bike frame or be strapped onto luggage without getting in the way.
The design language is modern, active and confident. Using controlled surfacing and geometric detailing to give the torch a technical edge, but we balanced it against a lifestyle-led colour palette: hot orange, heathland green and slate blue spoke to the great outdoors without feeling overly tactical.
The torch module was designed as part of a wider accessory system. We developed a hands-free wrist strap in flexible silicone, with other accessories created to meet the demands of outdoor influencers and early adopters. Each piece was built to work independently or part of a kit, giving users the ability to adapt Alva to their needs.
To support the founder’s Kickstarter campaign, we supplied campaign-ready models and produced a suite of high-quality renders that brought the product to life before it hit production. From material selection to ergonomic testing, every decision focused on balancing power with portability.
The result was a compact, wearable lighting system with a strong visual identity and real world versatility – a product designed to move, adapt and shine wherever it goes.
