Working from home has become the norm for many in the modern world. Yet, despite the renewed focus on home offices in recent years, the computer monitor market has barely moved beyond functionality into beauty.
As the centerpiece of any home office, we believe the computer monitor should look sharp, stylish and sit seamlessly within your working space. When our team transitioned from the studio to home environments, we began to consider whether a more domestic design language and material palette could create a visually pleasing solution.
So far, the market has been saturated by computer monitors that add little to the look and feel of our living spaces. Could this hybrid approach lead to a domestic attitude to consumer electronics and tech in our homes?
For this studio concept, we opted for clean design to complement the decor of a modern home. Drawing inspiration from the artistry of furniture craftsmanship, we opted for a single timber mast and a heavy cast foot, bringing simplicity to the rear of the display and providing a place for storage.
The clean rear and side silhouette became our visual focus, while a cold, circular disc provides a cleaner approach to articulation. The result was a monitor that blended an artistic edge with a professional feel.
