Nothing like a bit of design inspiration to blow away the cobwebs from the bank holiday. This month, I’ve been delving into the diverse worlds of fashion, flashlights and furniture design.
If you’re short on ideas, here are some of the most exciting and innovative products that caught my attention this month:
Ambessa Play
Demystifying #STEM for children demands a different approach – and Ambessa Play have hit the nail on the head with their inspiring DIY flashlight kit that children can assemble themselves. I love the approachable, upbeat ID and CMF that gives it an engaging look and feel, but best of all, this kit also serves as a usable product for displaced children.
OTO chair by One to One
“We realised that using recycled materials was not enough: we had to think about something that would systemise the entire sustainable supply chain.” With the launch of their first product, One to One have reimagined the entire production system to embrace circularity. Created from a single mould, made from recycled plastic and intuitively locked together, it’s a brilliant example of asking at each stage of the process, ‘how can we do this better?’
Timberland x Raeburn Timberloop
It’s invigorating to see major brands designing for the circular economy, and Timberland is leading the way with their ‘23 collection. Made with 100% regenerative leather, recycled poly and organic cotton, the range is supported by the Timberloop programme to reclaim materials “after your adventures with them are complete.”
Bodega x Crocs
As a guilt-free advocate for the humble Croc, I’m loving seeing them back in the press with plenty of interesting and unexpected collaborations hitting my feed. This latest collab with Bodega is a great example! Equipped with practical features such as a retractable hood and a zip pull with a bungee toggle, these adventure-ready crocs have really nailed the utility aesthetic.
